The City Hospital and Diagnostic Centre is 150 bedded Multi-specialty Hospital in the heart of the Udupi city. Hospital was started in 1999, under the directorship of Dr. M. Vishwanath Shanbhag and Dr. Ramesh Naik.

To render service in health Care to all people irrespective of religion, caste and community.
SCHOOL OF NURSING
City School of Nursing is run under City Education Trust (R). The school is located at City Hospital campus. The Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Course is recognised by Govt. of Karnataka and Karnataka Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council.
AIMS OF THE SCHOOL
At the end of three years of study, the student is expected to :
Have the aptitude, Knowledge and skill necessary for assessing needs of the individuals throughout the life-cycle, families and communities.
Apply related knowledge in planning and carrying out safe nursing care activities.
Co-operate with other members of the health team in the hospital or in the community in prevention of disease, promotion of health, restoration of health and rehabilitation.
Impart health knowledge to individuals & groups through health education.
Assist the nurses in their personal and professional development so that they may make their maximum contribution to the society as individual citizens and nurses.
The course of training comprises three years in General Nursing & Midwifery.
The admission granted is provisional until the student has completed a preliminary course of three months & has passed the Examination. A preliminary training pariod (PTS) of 3 months is conducted to asses the ability of the student to decide whether he/she is eligible for the G.N.M. programme.
The course outline & the syllabus is designed & developed by the Indian Nursing Council and approved by the State Nursing Council.
Periodical internal assessment examinations will be held in each subject including practicals. Internal assesssment marks in each subject carries 25% weightage of total marks of the Board Examination.
The students appear for a board examination at the end of every year of study. The students will have to pay an exam fee as determined by examination board
Fees & deposits paid are not refundable if a candidate after having paid those, wishes to discountinue studies for whatsoever reason.
All students are expected to reside in the hostel.
