Karnataka the eighth largest states in India, is a veritable treasure trove of tourist delights. There is a dazzling array of ancient sculptured temples, modern cities, friendly people, scenic hill ranges, unexplored forests and endless beaches. Karnataka is a place that has all the ingredients for great holiday. Each spot has something special to offer and the Department of Tourism, Karnataka, offers you five exciting circuits to explore this enchanting land. These are North Karnataka, the Hill Stations, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Coastal Karnataka and Southern Karnataka.

North Karnataka, with its harsh climate and forbidding landscape is a land of many surprises. Musical pillars, elephant stables, monuments, temples, mosques, forts and ruins...every town here is rich in history. It has the unique privilege of housing two World Heritage Centres - Hampi and Pattadakal.

The hill-stations of Karnataka - Madikeri, Kudremukh, and Nandi Hills - offer you an opportunity to discover how intoxicating nature can be. You will find a variety of exotic flora and fauna at the wildlife sanctuaries Bhimeshwari, Ranganthittu, Bandipur, and Nagarhole. The coastal belt of Karnataka - Karavali beach and temple country - is sheltered by the soaring Western Ghats in the east and embraced by the blue waters of the Arabian Sea in the west. A magical place of palm-fringed beaches, lush green fields, breathtaking views and temple towns, coastal Karnataka has indeed been blessed by nature. Southern Karnataka is a unique blend of tradition and modernity. On one hand are the towns of Hassan, Belur and Halebeedu, famous for their exquisite temples; and on theother is Bangalore, one of the fastest growing cities in South Asia, totally cosmopolitan and well known for horse racing, golf, tennis and luxury hotels. With a well-established network of hotels and well connected with all the major cities in India by air, road and rail, Karnataka is a kaleidoscope of exciting experiences to delight the senses.
